At first glance, the leaves do indeed resemble those of \u003ci\u003eB. hahiepiana\u003c\/i\u003e, but upon closer inspection, they differ significantly. \u003ci\u003eBegonia nhatii\u003c\/i\u003e has very fine leaf venation, which gives the leaf a net-like pattern. The veins are sunken and red in color. The leaf is more matte than glossy. The petioles and the undersides of the leaves are densely covered with red hairs. The flowers also differ.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt grows to about 20 to 30 cm in height and width and spreads via a creeping rhizome that is also covered in red hairs. The leaves grow to about 15 cm long and 8 to 10 cm wide. The most striking feature is, of course, the metallic blue iridescence of the leaves. Unlike most other begonias with this trait, the blue coloration in \u003ci\u003eBegonia nhatii\u003c\/i\u003e is visible even in daylight; no flashlight or similar light source is needed. Even in normal light, the leaves shimmer in metallic hues ranging from green to turquoise to dark blue.
