It grows to about 30 to 40 cm in height and width and branches profusely. As it matures, the very thin stems become woody, and the plant is surprisingly sturdy and robust. The leaves grow to about 8 cm long and are only 8 to 12 mm wide, with serrated edges. The leaves are dark green and slightly thickened.
