The leaves grow up to 20 cm long and are limp and pendulous, not stiff. In nature, the plant hangs down from the branches of larger trees and does not grow upright. It usually bears only 2 to 4 leaves at a time. The roots are not round and white, but flat and silvery with reddish tips. The flower spikes are thin and grow strictly pendulously (if allowed). The flowers themselves are delicate pink to pink, with some yellow on the labellum. They are smaller than \"typical\" \u003cem\u003ePhalaenopsis\u003c\/em\u003e and do not last as long, only about 4 to 6 weeks. They emit a very light, sweet scent. \u003cem\u003ePhalaenopsis schilleriana\u003c\/em\u003e blooms in winter to spring and does not require any particularly different care for this.
