Description
This ornamental ginger from Southeast Asia is fast-growing and reaches up to 3 meters in height in its natural habitat. As a houseplant, it remains significantly smaller and rarely exceeds 1.5 meters in height. The name "shell ginger" comes from the flower buds, which, when closed, resemble cockles.

There are several cultivated varieties of shell ginger. The variety offered here has beautifully yellow variegated leaves.
