Description
Anthurium polyschistum originates from a fairly large distribution area in Colombia and Ecuador, as well as northeastern Bolivia. It grows in lowland areas, mostly terrestrially (i.e., on the ground), but sometimes also epiphytically. Within the genus Anthurium, it belongs to the section Dactylophyllium ( Croat & Carlsen, 2013 ). It is unusual for an Anthurium in several respects. The leaves are palmate, meaning the individual 11 to 13 segments are separated all the way to the petiole. The growth habit is creeping or climbing, with long intervals between the nodes, similar to Philodendron.
The leaves reach a diameter of approximately 15 to 30 cm. For larger terrariums, it's a very attractive alternative to the usual climbing plants!
You will receive a young plant in a 9cm pot, approximately 20 to 30cm tall. The leaves may have slight damage!
