Anthurium radicans

Anthurium radicans likely originates from southwestern Brazil. Its precise origin is unknown, as the plant is only known from botanical collections, and the natural habitat from which these plants were taken has not yet been rediscovered. It is characterized by its thick, creeping or hanging rhizome and its tough, bullate leaves. Anthurium radicans is a small species. The leaves reach a maximum length of approximately 25 cm, but usually remain smaller, only about 15 cm long. Within the genus Anthurium , it belongs to the section Chamaerepium and is the only representative of this section.

The roots are very thick and quite brittle. They serve as nutrient and water storage. The flower spikes are noticeably short and thick.

There are several hybrids with A. radicans that are mistakenly sold as the species itself. These all grow significantly larger and faster. However, the plants sold here are genuine A. radicans and not hybrids. They are therefore quite small.



You will receive a strong, rooted cutting with 2 to 4 leaves in an 11cm pot. The leaves may have slight damage!
