Description
Bolbitis heudelotii, also known as the Congo fern or Congo water fern, is a medium-sized fern with a creeping rhizome, widespread in tropical West and Central Africa, and typically growing directly alongside rivers and streams. It produces simple, pinnate fronds with lobed leaflets, approximately 30 cm in length. It can also be cultivated submerged, i.e., underwater. In this form, it usually remains smaller, and the fronds are simpler in shape and have a striking, transparent green color reminiscent of green glass. The hairy rhizomes attach themselves to any moist substrate. In an aquarium, it should be attached to roots or stones. In a terrarium, it can also be cultivated as an epiphyte in a permanently moist location.
You will receive a young plant with approximately 10 cm long fronds in a 6 cm aquatic plant pot. Plants grown emersed.
