Description
A small Bulbophyllum , also known by the old synonym Trias oblonga . It is distributed from India (West Bengal) to Indochina and grows in seasonally dry subtropical forests. Its growth is very compact, with approximately 2 cm large, spherical, hard pseudobulbs, each bearing a single, leathery, thickened leaf about 3 to 5 cm long. The fresh leaves, in particular, exhibit a very faint blue iridescence. The flowers are yellow, triangular, and appear singly on short pedicels, usually in spring.
The entire plant shows adaptations to drought, but can still be very well cared for in a tropical terrarium if it is not planted in a permanently wet location. It prefers high humidity but a rather dry substrate.
You will receive a flowering-ready, mounted plant.
