Climacium japonicum (Japanese tree moss) in vitro

Climacium japonicum is a large moss from the genus Climacium . Its stems, which can reach up to 10 cm in height, bear 3 to 5 cm long "branches" at their top, resembling tiny trees. It is very similar to our native tree moss ( Climacium dendroides ), but has overhanging, narrower, and finer "branches." It grows rather slowly and is not suitable for underwater cultivation. It prefers a moderately moist substrate, good air circulation, and mild temperatures. It does not thrive in warm, humid, tropical conditions. It is best suited for unheated terrariums.



Instructions for in-vitro plants: These plants are supplied in sterile cups containing a sterile nutrient solution and are intended for immediate use. Plants in in-vitro cups cannot be stored for long periods. Therefore, please open and plant them immediately upon receipt. To do this, thoroughly rinse the nutrient solution under running water. Divide the plants from the cup into portions of the desired size and plant them. When using them as terrarium plants, keep them very moist initially and pay attention to hygiene (avoid mold, etc., in the terrarium). Opened in-vitro plants are non-returnable.
