Description
Cyanotis beddomei originates from India and is also known as "Teddy Bear Vine" in English. It belongs to the Commelinaceae family.
It grows as a creeping, slightly succulent plant, completely covered in soft, brownish hairs. The plant feels very fuzzy overall, hence its common name. The leaves are fleshy, olive-green on top and red underneath, and arranged in two rows along the stem. They are up to 5 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, with a leaf sheath up to 1 cm long that covers most of the stem.
The flowers are small, with three pinkish-purple petals and long stamens covered in long blue hairs, and appear in clusters during the summer. It is extremely easy to care for and grows readily both in terrariums and as a houseplant. Over time, it forms dense mats and also looks beautiful when hanging.
You will receive two fresh stem cuttings.
Cyanotis root very easily and continue to grow immediately, which is why we have decided to offer them as fresh cuttings. Upon receipt, simply place them in a box or terrarium on slightly moist substrate.
