Description
Hoya wayetii originates from Southeast Asia, the Philippines, India and Burma.
The leaves are oblong and pointed, approximately 12 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. The characteristic red to dark brown, almost black in older leaves, leaf margin is particularly attractive. Hoya wayetii blooms almost year-round with umbels of lilac to purplish-red flowers. The flower stalks should not be cut after flowering, as the plants will repeatedly produce new blooms from them. The flowers last for about three days and are unscented.
It is very similar to Hoya kentiana , and some authors treat the two as synonyms. The differences are minimal. H. wayetii is classified in the section Otostemma.
Plant in a 12cm pot with many shoots, approximately 20cm long.
