Description
Hydrocotyle tripartita is a member of the Araliaceae family, native to wetlands in eastern Australia and New Zealand. It has distinctive three-lobed leaves and forms dense mats.
The leaves only grow to about 3 cm in length, but often remain at just 1.5 to 2 cm. It forms dense mats of creeping rhizomes. Underwater, the leaves remain somewhat smaller than on land. In low light, submerged plants tend to grow upright instead of forming mats. On land, growth is always creeping.
This plant can be kept both in an aquarium (submers) and in a humid terrarium (emers).
Instructions for in-vitro plants: These plants are supplied in sterile cups containing a sterile nutrient solution and are intended for immediate use. Plants in in-vitro cups cannot be stored for long periods. Therefore, please open and plant them immediately upon receipt. To do this, thoroughly rinse the nutrient solution under running water. Divide the plants from the cup into portions of the desired size and plant them. When using them as terrarium plants, keep them very moist initially and pay attention to hygiene (avoid mold, etc., in the terrarium). Opened in-vitro plants are non-returnable.
You will receive one portion in a 6cm in-vitro cup. Note: The plants are usually sold as Hydrocotyle sp. 'Japan' and the containers are labeled accordingly.
