Description
This very popular houseplant, cultivated for over 150 years, originates from South Africa. Its large leaves resemble those of a linden tree, but are more hairy and can grow impressively large. In nature, it grows as a shrub up to 7 meters tall, but indoors it remains smaller or can be pruned.
The flowers are particularly interesting (and beautiful). They appear in small clusters in umbel-like inflorescences and are white, with striking yellow and red stamens. These stamens react to touch and move when brushed against. In nature, this serves to transfer pollen more effectively to pollinators.
It is extremely easy to care for and can withstand prolonged drying.
Strong, branched plant in a 19 cm pot, at least 50 cm high and wide.
Please note: This year the plants are not as lush as shown in the pictures and only have 2-3 large main shoots.
