Description
A very pretty micro orchid with round, patterned leaves.
Lepanthes calodictyon originates from western Colombia and Ecuador. There, it grows at altitudes of 450 to 1500 meters above sea level on moss-covered trees or rocks near rivers and streams. The plant itself is a true miniature orchid with round leaves measuring just 2 to 3 cm across, borne on stems 3 to 5 cm long. The leaves have a dark, net-like pattern, which is more pronounced in low light. The larger and older the plants become, the rounder the leaves become. The leaf margins are finely wavy, making them very distinctive. The flowers are tiny and borne on a very thin, almost invisible pedicel that extends from the top of the leaf to the middle.
