Description
Cardinal lobelia ( Lobelia cardinalis ) is a medium-sized marsh plant belonging to the bellflower family (Campanulaceae). It has a wide distribution, ranging from the east coast of the USA to Central America. It grows to about 1 meter tall and produces beautiful red flowers, which are pollinated by hummingbirds in the wild. When grown underwater, it remains significantly smaller and more compact. It does not form long stems but rather grows in a rosette. The 'mini' form offered here reaches a diameter of only about 2-3 cm per rosette, with rather rounded leaves. It grows to about 10-15 cm tall.
It is easy to care for in an aquarium and is considered a classic in aquatics. Like most aquarium plants, it can also be kept in terrariums, or it can be allowed to grow out of the top of open aquariums. Above water, it grows significantly larger than underwater and can then also flower.
Instructions for in-vitro plants: These plants are supplied in sterile cups containing a sterile nutrient solution and are intended for immediate use. Plants in in-vitro cups cannot be stored for long periods. Therefore, please open and plant them immediately upon receipt. To do this, thoroughly rinse the nutrient solution under running water. Divide the plants from the cup into portions of the desired size and plant them. When using them as terrarium plants, keep them very moist initially and pay attention to hygiene (avoid mold, etc., in the terrarium). Opened in-vitro plants are non-returnable.
You will receive one portion in a 6cm in-vitro cup.
