Description
Philodendron 'McColley's Finale' is a very colorful Philodendron cultivar with a compact growth habit (no vining). New leaves are intensely red and then turn intensely orange to dark red over time. Only very old leaves show a dark green color. Unlike Philodendron 'Prince of Orange' or 'Red Sun', this plant therefore remains mostly red. This cultivar grows rather slowly and produces only a few, but eventually quite large leaves up to 40cm in length. Very suitable as a houseplant for bright locations but without direct sunlight.
Philodendron 'McColley's Finale' is named after Robert H. McColley, a Philodendron breeder from Florida. His wife, Cora McColley, who continued to care for his Philodendron collection after his death, discovered this plant among thousands of seedlings, which looked drastically different from all other seedlings and which she registered in 1999 under US Patent number USPP12144P2 as Philodendron 'McColley's Finale'.
You will receive a strong young plant in a 12 cm pot.
