Description
Platycerium 'Foong SiQi QQ 卷卷鹿' is a cultivar of Platycerium bifurcatum subsp. willinckii , distinguished in mature plants by its strikingly curled fronds . This staghorn fern is named after Si Qi, the daughter of the Malaysian Platycerium breeder SS Foong.
'QQ卷卷鹿' is a tissue culture version of P. Foong Siqi. Until recently, Platycerium enthusiasts had to travel to Malaysia to acquire this cultivar from its original breeder, Mr. Foong.
'Foong SiQi QQ' grows relatively quickly and is not difficult to care for.
It grows best when mounted or attached sideways to a substrate such as cork. There, it can develop its characteristic antler shape. This species should not be kept too moist and requires plenty of light to thrive. Water carefully in a terrarium. Excessive moisture and overwatering can quickly cause this plant to rot!
You will receive a strong, young orchid plant in a 9 cm pot. Some plants already have their first outer leaves. Well-hardened and robust, no spore-forming plants!
