Description
This fern has a very large distribution area in Southeast Asia. It is now also found as an invasive species in Central and South America. It is very common in the wild and usually grows on shady, damp slopes in rainforests.
Mature specimens have beautiful, simply pinnate fronds with very narrow segments ("ensiformis" means "sword-shaped"). Smaller plants have significantly broader leaves. In the cultivar 'Evergemiensis', the upper surface is additionally marked with white. A mature specimen of Pteris ensiformis 'Evergemiensis' is a real eye-catcher! Very pretty and easy to care for.
The fronds grow up to 40cm long, about 30cm wide and are borne on leaf stalks up to 30cm long.
You will receive a strong plant in an 8.5cm pot, approximately 15cm tall.
