Description
This small, climbing fern originates from the islands of the South Pacific and New Zealand. It produces small, surprisingly tough leaves, about 2 to 4 cm long and 1 to 2 cm wide. The fertile leaves (sporophylls) are somewhat larger and longer, up to about 6 cm, and bear round sori on their underside. However, these are rarely produced. It grows slowly and eventually forms dense mats along any permanently moist surface in the terrarium. It can even climb glass!
Since it comes from a rather mild habitat, it does not necessarily need tropical temperatures, but also thrives in unheated terrariums.
