Description
Rhaphidophora decursiva originates from China, northern India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Myanmar. It grows in tropical, subtropical, and temperate climates. Isolated records from Nepal and Bhutan suggest that it is considerably more cold-tolerant than one might expect. While we cannot say for certain whether it can tolerate frost, its documented occurrence in the foothills of the Himalayas would suggest this.
It grows as a vigorous vine, up to 20 meters long, climbing trees with its aerial roots and producing pinnate leaves up to 1 meter long. All parts of the plant are remarkably firm and robust. To develop its large, characteristic leaves, it needs plenty of (indirect) light and a climbing support, such as a coconut fiber pole . Initially, it grows rather slowly and compactly.
You will receive a strong young plant with several shoots in a 12cm pot.
