Description
Schismatoglottis pusilla is a relatively unknown Araceae with beautifully patterned leaves and a compact growth habit. It originates from a very small area around the Bulusian volcano in southern Luzon, Philippines. There, it grows in shady, damp locations. It forms an underground rhizome from which new shoots emerge at short intervals, eventually creating a compact bush. The leaves grow to about 20 cm long and 5 to 7 cm wide, and are finely ribbed, similar to those of Anthurium veitchii , for example. The upper surface of the leaves in the form offered here is marked with light spots along the midrib.
S. pusilla grows to a maximum height of about 20 to 30 cm, but usually remains somewhat smaller.
You will receive a strong plant in a 10.5cm round pot. It is now producing its first offshoots!
