Description
Schoenorchis scolopendria is a tiny, monopodial orchid from Vietnam. Within the genus Schoenorchis, it belongs to the section Pumila .
It is tiny, with fleshy, thickened leaves only 5 to 11 mm long, arranged very densely in two rows along the creeping stem. Its growth resembles the appearance of a centipede, hence its name. In bright light, the leaves turn red. Unlike most other members of the Pumila section, S. scolopendria branches profusely. The tiny, pinkish-white flowers appear in summer on a very short, unbranched inflorescence, usually singly. Larger plants can produce several flower stalks. The flowers last for about three weeks and have a pleasant fragrance, especially in the morning.
You will receive a flowering, mounted plant.
