Schoenorchis secundiflora

Schoenorchis scolopendria is a small, monopodial orchid from Thailand, Malaysia, and Borneo. While somewhat larger than its tiny relatives in the section Pumila (e.g., Schoenorchis fragrans ), it is still a true miniature orchid. It grows to about 5 to 10 cm tall and blooms with numerous tiny, bicolored purple-yellow flowers on a drooping flower stalk.

Its leaves droop and are not as fleshy and thickened as those of other Schoenorchis species. This suggests that it should not be kept too dry and thrives in humid tropical terrariums. Larger plants can produce several flower stalks. The flowers last about two weeks and have a pleasant fragrance, especially in the morning.
