[expand Title=" Details about the plant "]
In a revision by Zhou and Zang (2023), the large and highly diverse genus Selaginella was split into several genera. According to this revision, the new name for this plant is now Chuselaginella brooksii . We will continue to use the old name for the time being, until the new names are confirmed by other authors.
Selaginella brooksii is found only in Borneo, in the north and central regions of the island. It initially grows as a ground cover, with individual stems reaching about 10 to 15 cm in height. These stems are initially upright, but then branch dichotomously and spread horizontally, like a fan. The leaves are exceptionally large for a Selaginella and grow densely overlapping, giving this moss fern a truly primeval appearance. "A Bornean behemoth of a moss fern with a Carboniferous/seaweed look," as one botanist on Twitter put it. Truly impressive, but unfortunately difficult to capture in photos, as they lack a direct size comparison to other Selaginella species. Therefore, it's best to order one and see it in person ;)
The combination of the size and shape of the individual stems, along with their compact growth, makes this species perfect for medium-sized tropical terrariums. The stems and leaves are unusually hard and robust, almost resembling plastic.

You will receive a well-rooted cutting in a 7cm pot.
Please note: The small twigs of this species break very easily. Even with very good packaging, some pieces will likely break off after shipping. Unfortunately, this cannot be prevented, but it doesn't significantly harm the plant. After an acclimatization period, this species continues to grow quite quickly. Such damage is not grounds for a complaint.
