Selaginella sp. 'Dwarf Blue Purple' originates from Ratchaburi, in west-central Thailand. It most closely resembles a miniature form of Selaginella uncinata . It grows as a compact, initially loose, later dense mat and turns an iridescent metallic blue in low light and a metallic purple in bright light! The yellowish stems and the round, approximately 1 mm small leaves are particularly striking.
Despite extensive research, we couldn't find out much more about this amazing, tiny moss fern. There are no described Selaginella species in Thailand that resemble this miniature. All the small, ground-covering species there have pointed leaves or a completely different growth pattern.
As far as we know, this is also the first time this species has been commercially available in Europe. It has the potential to become an absolute classic!

You will receive a well-filled 6 cm pot.
Please note: The small twigs of this species break very easily. Even with very good packaging, some pieces will likely break off after shipping. Unfortunately, this cannot be prevented, but it doesn't significantly harm the plant. After an acclimatization period, this species continues to grow quite quickly. Such damage is not grounds for a complaint.
