Description
This small nightshade plant (Solanaceae) originates from northern South America (Peru, Ecuador, Brazil) and grows as a climbing plant on mossy trees. The leaves are pinnate and grow to about 4 to 6 cm in size. All parts of the plant are covered with soft, slightly purple hairs. In low light, the otherwise light green leaves turn deep purple to almost black! The combination of purple hairs and black leaves gives it a truly unique appearance.
It also produces flowers once it reaches a certain size, but these are rather inconspicuous, small, and white. The fruits are green.
You will receive a young plant in a 7cm square pot.
Because we cultivate our plants in lighter colors for faster growth, they are usually not black but green.
