Description
Especially small, yet well-structured pieces of honeycomb wood with many holes. Ideal for terrariums, bottle gardens, and similar setups. The unusual shape with its many holes and protrusions allows for planting numerous tiny epiphytes with a bit of sphagnum moss. Our favorite wood for creating planted miniature landscapes!

Honeycomb wood, also known as dragonwood, is driftwood that has been eroded by shipworms ( Teredo navalis ). These boring mollusks (not worms) feed on the cellulose contained in the wood and are one of the few animals that can decompose wood without the help of bacteria. The many tunnels and holes created in the wood are ideal for planting miniature plants, mosses, and similar items. The resulting unusual surface also offers numerous design possibilities.

It is not very dense and needs to be soaked for several days to sink.
