Description
The ZZ plant, or ZZ plant, is an Araceae (arum family) native to Africa. In its natural habitat, it grows to about 2 meters tall, but as a houseplant, it usually remains smaller. It has underground tubers in which it stores water and nutrients. The somewhat cumbersome scientific name, Zamioculcas zamiifolia, refers to its close resemblance to a Zamia . However, it is not closely related to the Zamia genus, a group of cycads.
The ZZ plant is very undemanding and thrives in almost any location. It needs little water, little light, and little fertilizer, and despite its tropical origin, it is resistant to dry air and cool temperatures. The cultivar 'Raven' is just as easy to care for as the green wild form, but tends to grow somewhat slower.
It is very interesting to see that new shoots are initially green and then darken over several weeks.
You will receive a plant approximately 40 cm tall with several shoots in a 14 cm pot.
