Description
This easy-to-care-for and fast-growing Alocasia is a hybrid of Alocasia cuprea and Alocasia sanderiana. It was first cross-bred in 1887 by Adolphe and Ernest Chantrier, who named this hybrid after themselves and their nursery. Since then, this combination of A. cuprea and sanderiana has been re-crossed multiple times. It is therefore an absolute classic among Alocasias!
Alocasia x 'Chantrieri' inherits the characteristics of both parent species. The leaves have a slight metallic sheen similar to A. cuprea and the lobed shape and white veins like A. sanderiana. Like many primary plant hybrids, it grows faster and is more robust than its parent species (so-called "hybrid vigor"), making it very suitable as a houseplant.
You will receive a young plant of approx. 20 cm height in a 12 cm pot.
