Description
Alocasia nebula was described in 2001 and originates from Borneo.
It is a medium-sized species, growing to about 50 cm tall, but usually remaining smaller. The leaves are up to about 25 cm long and 15 cm wide and are peltate when young, but not when adult. Their base color is a dull silver. The leaf veins are dark gray and sunken. The leaves are generally much rounder and fleshier than those of the similar Alocasia 'Silver Dragon'. It also grows significantly slower. From underneath, the leaves are deep red. This is the easiest way to distinguish it from 'Silver Dragon', whose leaves are green underneath. The petioles are light green with red speckles.
The flowers are white and usually appear in threes or fours, one after another.
