Asplenium × eboides (Dragontail Fern)

This spleenwort is a hybrid of Asplenium rhizophyllum and Asplenium platyneuron . It is a natural hybrid, not a cultivated variety. It is found along the Appalachian Mountains in North America.

Morphologically, Asplenium × ebenoides lies between its two parents, combining the long, narrow fronds of A. rhizophyllum with the dark stem and leaflets resembling those of A. platyneuron . It has surprisingly hard, leathery leaves, which one would not expect given its fragile appearance.

This fern grows to about 20 cm tall and reaches a diameter of 20 to 30 cm. It grows creeping and eventually forms dense mats. However, this takes quite a long time, as this plant doesn't grow particularly quickly.

You will receive one plant in an 8.5cm pot.
