Description
Begonia prismatocarpa is a very small, creeping and climbing species, which is ideally suited as a ground cover or epiphyte for rainforest terrariums.
It has a scattered distribution area, ranging from the Ivory Coast, through the rainforests of Cameroon, to the island of Bioko, located off the coast of Cameroon and belonging to Equatorial Guinea. There it grows along streams and rivers at altitudes of 400 to 1250 meters.
There are three subspecies of B. prismatocarpa , which are spatially isolated from each other and differ in habitat and appearance:
The plants offered here belong to the nominate form. They have small, unevenly spaced, two- to three-lobed leaves that only grow to about 3 to 5 cm in length and grow as a creeping rhizome along the ground. *B. prismatocarpa* blooms with very pretty yellow flowers, which are produced in great numbers. Over time, it forms dense carpets that bloom profusely throughout the year.
It belongs to the Loasibegonia section.
You will receive a young plant in a 6 cm pot. It is already capable of flowering at this size!
