Bulbophyllum reticulatum

Bulbophyllum reticulatum originates from Borneo. Unlike most Bulbophyllum species, it does not grow epiphytically, but rather on limestone rocks on the forest floor, with its rhizome usually hidden beneath a layer of moss and humus. The habitat is consistently warm (but not hot), with very high humidity and low light. The leaves, which give the species its name, grow to about 15 cm long and 8-10 cm wide, and have a net-like (reticulate) pattern. Individual leaves are widely spaced and, under favorable conditions, are only produced every 10 to 20 cm.

The flowers usually appear in pairs and are about 5 to 8 cm in size. They are patterned in red and white with long, elongated petals and emit a barely perceptible, sweetish scent.

This species is considered difficult to care for.

You will receive a well-rooted, flowering-ready plant in active growth with 2 to 4 leaves and new growth.
