Bulbophyllum thaiorum aff.

Bulbophyllum thaiorum is a miniature orchid native to Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam. It grows epiphytically on larger trees at altitudes of 600 to 2000 meters. Its habitat is consistently warm to cool, with high humidity and moderate light. The leaves are approximately 4 to 6 cm long and 3 to 5 cm wide. It grows as a compact plant, without long rhizomes between the pseudobulbs. The flowers are yellow to reddish in color and appear in small clusters of 5 to 13 flowers on an umbel.

The plants we sell here do not quite conform to the usual form. The flowers are more pinkish and lack the typical papillae on the lateral petals. They also do not correspond to any other species in the section Brachyantha, which is why we assume that they are either an unknown form of this variable species or a new but undescribed species. We therefore sell these plants here as Bulbophyllum thaiorum affinis ( aff. ).
