Chlorophytum orchidastrum

Chlorophytum orchidastrum originates from West Africa and belongs to the asparagus family (Asparagaceae). Similar to the classic spider plant ( Chlorophytum comosum ), it is very easy to care for and quite robust! Compared to the spider plant , Chlorophytum orchidastrum is distinguished by its more compact growth habit and broader leaves with striking orange petioles. Like the spider plant, it produces underground runners from which new rosettes of leaves grow. However, the distances between these rosettes are quite short, so it doesn't form long runners but rather grows as a compact bush. It reaches a height of about 25 to 30 cm and a diameter of approximately 30 cm per rosette.
