Description
A small orchid with very striking, silvery-green leaves and thickened, flat pseudobulbs. Its growth habit alone is fascinating, and the waxy flowers are a wonderful bonus.
Dendrobium trantuanii originates from northern Vietnam and grows there epiphytically in rather dry, but evergreen deciduous forests.
The pseudobulbs grow to about 10 to 15 cm long and are noticeably broadened and thickened at the nodes. They are borne horizontally, and the plant grows in a fan-like shape, with the individual pseudobulbs not overlapping. Both the pseudobulbs and the leaves are silvery-gray-green. A very striking color for an orchid!
It blooms in spring with fleshy, thickened, pinkish-white flowers in small groups of 1 to 3 individual flowers at the end of the pseudobulbs.
You will receive a young plant in a 6 cm orchid pot.
