Description
This beautiful fern originates from a large distribution area in Malesia and South America. The fronds are initially a deep, reddish-brown color before turning green. It grows quite large , up to 2 meters in diameter with fronds up to 1 meter long, but it takes a considerable amount of time to reach this size, as it is a slow grower. The small leaflets are reminiscent of those of a spleenwort ( Asplenium ), but it is significantly more robust than these rather delicate little plants and copes better with typical indoor conditions.
It can of course also be kept in a terrarium, but it quickly becomes too large for most terrariums.
