Description
The dwarf needle spikerush is a small sedge (Cyperaceae) from the genus Elaeocharis . It originates from wetlands in Australia and New Zealand. Its stems only grow to about 10 cm long, and unlike other spikerushes, they don't grow strictly upright but rather bend to the side. This makes it even more compact and flat, and in aquariums, it usually only reaches a height of about 5 to 10 cm. As it is a grass, it can be easily kept in shape by trimming the stems. It has a strong root system and therefore needs a nutrient-rich substrate to thrive. It can also be successfully cultivated in humid terrariums, where it can grow up to 20 cm tall and will flower.
Instructions for in-vitro plants: These plants are supplied in sterile cups containing a sterile nutrient solution and are intended for immediate use. Plants in in-vitro cups cannot be stored for long periods. Therefore, please open and plant them immediately upon receipt. To do this, thoroughly rinse the nutrient solution under running water. Divide the plants from the cup into portions of the desired size and plant them. When using them as terrarium plants, keep them very moist initially and pay attention to hygiene (avoid mold, etc., in the terrarium). Opened in-vitro plants are non-returnable.
You will receive one portion in a 6cm in-vitro cup.
