Epidendrum schlechterianum (tied up)

Epidendrum schlechterianum originates from humid oak forests in Panama. There, it grows epiphytically (on trees) or lithophytically (on rocks). The habitat is consistently warm, with high humidity but not excessively wet. It grows in clusters with several stems bearing small, slightly succulent leaves arranged in two closely spaced rows. In bright light, these leaves turn reddish. The flowers usually appear in pairs on very short stalks and are reddish with a broad lip.
