Description
This tropical leaf cactus from southern Mexico and northern South America has large, flat stems and produces enormous (up to 30 cm!) white flowers. In nature, this cactus grows epiphytically, meaning it grows on and around trees in tropical rainforests. These areas have a humid and warm climate.

The broad shoots can reach a length of up to 6 meters! The gigantic blossoms only open for a short time (often just one day or one night) and are said to have a pleasant carnation fragrance. This attracts bats in particular.
