Description
These bizarre carnivorous plants from the genus Heliamphora originate from the table mountains (tepuis) of Venezuela and Brazil. The plants offered here are cultivated hybrids of two small species, Heliamphora heterodoxa and Heliamphora minor .
The pitchers grow to about 10 to 15 cm tall and 3 to 5 cm wide. In bright light, the plant turns red.
Like other carnivorous plants, Heliamphora require clean, lime-free water and plenty of light. They can survive a wide range of temperatures, but at night the temperature must drop to about 10 degrees Celsius below the daytime temperature. This nighttime dip is crucial for the plant's long-term health. Cultivating Heliamphora is therefore considered challenging. The hybrid we offer here is significantly more tolerant of cultivation errors than the pure species and is also very vigorous. The perfect introduction to this demanding genus!
You will receive a plant with the first adult pitchers, approximately 5 to 8 cm tall.
