Description
This bizarre carnivorous plant from the genus Helimaphora (pitcher plants) originates from the Auyan plateau (Tepui) in Venezuela.
The pitchers grow to about 10 to 15 cm in height and 3 to 5 cm in width. This makes it the smallest representative of the pitcher plants. It resembles the similarly small Heliamphora pulchella , but has shorter hairs on the inside of the adult pitchers.
The plant turns red in bright light.
Like other carnivorous plants , H. minor needs clean, lime-free water and plenty of light. It can survive a wide range of temperatures, but at night the temperature must drop to about 10 degrees Celsius below the daytime temperature. This nighttime temperature drop is essential for the plant's long-term health.
You will receive a young plant with juvenile or first adult pitchers, approximately 5cm tall.
