Description
This bizarre carnivorous plant from the genus Helimaphora originates from the Chimanta Massif in Venezuela. The plants offered here come from mother plants on Churi Tepui.
The pitchers grow to about 10 to 15 cm in height and 3 to 5 cm in width. This makes it the smallest of the pitcher-shaped fungus species. It resembles the similarly small Heliamphora minor , but has longer hairs on the inside of the adult pitchers.
The plant turns red in bright light.
Like other carnivorous plants , H. pulchella requires clean, lime-free water and plenty of light. It can survive a wide range of temperatures, but at night the temperature must drop to about 10 degrees Celsius below the daytime temperature. This nighttime temperature drop is essential for the plant's long-term health.
You will receive a young plant with juvenile or first adult pitchers, approximately 5cm tall.
