Description
Hoya australis originates from Papua New Guinea and northern Australia. It is also found on many Pacific islands. Due to its wide distribution, it is highly variable. The leaves are rounded and very thick, somewhat resembling those of a rubber tree ( Ficus elastica ). These thick leaves store water, which is why it can survive periods of drought well. Compared to other Hoya species, it has somewhat larger flowers that are not as densely packed. The flowers are white, often with a pink center.
