Description
Hoya carnosa is probably the most commonly cultivated wax flower. Numerous cultivars exist, such as 'tricolor', whose leaves are extensively variegated and pink to fuchsia in their new growth!
This species originally comes from a very large distribution area, ranging from Southeast Asia, India and Japan to Queensland in northern Australia.
The leaves are oval to egg-shaped, about 5 to 12 cm long and slightly succulent and thickened.
The flowers are creamy pink and grow in clusters of 16 to 30 individual blooms. They have a very pleasant fragrance and last for about 5 to 7 days.
