Labisia pumila is probably the most common and widespread member of its genus. It occurs throughout Indochina and as far as New Guinea, growing in the undergrowth of rainforests as a dwarf shrub reaching approximately 30 to 80 cm in height. It grows more vertically than horizontally and branches little. Mature plants are rather inconspicuous, with leathery leaves about 20 to 25 cm long and toothed margins. Young plants, however, exhibit a very striking pink leaf coloration with a pale midrib. The color and shape of the leaves are also highly variable and differ depending on the region of origin.
The variety we offer here has a distinct silvery tinge on the young leaves, in addition to the pink leaf margin and midrib. One of the most beautiful varieties!
