Description
Lagenandra meeboldii originates from the west coast of South India. There, it grows in the muddy floodplains of rivers, either directly on the banks or a few meters away, sheltered by trees. It reaches a diameter of approximately 20 to 30 cm and a height of about 10 to 15 cm. The variety offered here has attractive, metallic pink leaves. However, with insufficient light (especially when kept as an aquatic plant), it can lose this coloration and turn green. It grows both above and below water. In its natural habitat, it is only briefly submerged, if at all, and is otherwise terrestrial. While it can be kept in an aquarium, it thrives better and grows faster and stronger as a land plant, for example, in a terrarium. It is best kept in a humid, warm terrarium and prefers a humidity level of 60% or higher. Those who can provide these conditions indoors can also cultivate it as a relatively trouble-free houseplant.
You will receive a strong young plant in a 6cm pot, approximately 10 to 15cm tall.
