Description
A very pretty micro orchid with large, orange flowers.
Lepanthes telipogoniflora originates from the Risaralda Department in central Colombia. There, it grows at an altitude of approximately 500 meters above sea level on moss-covered trees or rocks near rivers and streams. The plant itself is a true micro-orchid with leaves barely 1 cm long on stems only a few millimeters long. In contrast to the tiny plant, the flowers appear oversized. The oversized, almost disc-shaped, orange blossoms are reminiscent of some Telipogon species, hence the name. Despite its minuscule size, it blooms surprisingly profusely and frequently. Unfortunately, the flowers only last a few days.
