Description
This ornamental ginger originates from Peru, Ecuador, and Panama. It is also known by the synonym Costus uniflora . The stems grow spirally, which is why it is also called spiral ginger. The leaves display a subtle striped pattern.
The real highlight of this plant, however, is its flowers, which is also reflected in its name. Each stem of this ginger produces only one flower. But it is lemon yellow and up to 8 cm across!
It can flower from a height of about 50 cm. The flowering period is from May to September. With sufficient light, it can flower several times a year.
You will receive a plant approximately 20 to 30 cm tall in a 12 cm round pot with several stems.
