Description
The Swiss cheese plant, Monstera deliciosa, is one of the most widespread Monstera species. It is found throughout the Neotropics, from Mexico to Brazil. This very chic cultivated variety has heavily white variegated leaves with many small, white speckles. Unlike the 'Albo Variegata' form, there is no risk that the variegation will disappear, eventually producing only green leaves. The stems and flowers are also white striped or speckled. The white proportion is also significantly higher than in 'Thai Constellation', which, however, leads to slower growth and at the same time a higher light requirement. A grow light is, at least for winter, practically mandatory.
Monstera are hemiepiphytic climbers, meaning they start as young plants on the forest floor and then grow up trees with their climbing roots. In doing so, they change their size and leaf shape. In the juvenile phase, the leaves are still small and have few or no holes. Shortly after they find a substrate to climb on (and also get more light due to the additional height), the leaves quickly become much larger and take on their adult form.
You will receive a young plant in a 9 cm pot.
